Tianda TDR300 debuts at Bishopscourt N.Ireland 21/09/2019

The all new Tianda TDR300 racing motorcycle made its race debut at the IFS David Wood memorial event at Bishopscourt, on sat/sun 21st/22nd September.

In agreement with the MCUI(UC) the Governing body of the sport, the bike was raced on non point scoring results.

The main purpose of this outing, was to gather some valuable data, which can be passed on to future Tianda customers.

Guest rider, 16 year old Bangor rider ,Curtis Trimble, in his first season of circuit racing qualified the single cylinder 279cc Tianda in 10th place ( 3rd in class).

Unfortunately a changed handlebar setting for the first race deemed a Non Starter.

Race two saw Curtis finish 9th overall, but more importantly, Second in the class, race Three brought more improvements with the Tianda crossing the line in 6th place, and taking first place in its class.

Like good old wine, the best is kept to the last, and in the final outing of the weekend, this up and coming rider, took the all new Tianda to a very impressive 5th place on track, And another First in its class.

These results, in its first track race are a testament to both the rider and machine.

Daniel Parkinson; Misano Moto Imports ; “It was very good weekend, to see the potential the bike has and to truly test its capabilities on race day in dry and wet conditions with Curtis onboard  was exciting, we probably surprised a few people which is always a good thing. We are all very happy with the results we achieved, Curtis did an unbelievable job, he really got to grips with the bike from early on at timed practice so we knew straight away he could do very well on the bike for the weekend. It’s always a big learning curve with a new bike and we soaked in as much information as possible but Jackie and Jonny  Rainey did a fantastic job making sure the bike was ready at all times so a huge thank you to the 2 lads and everyone else who helped in any way to get us out there.

Curtis Trimble “Saturday qualifying practice went well getting used to the bike again and getting it set up, going into race one we were 10th on the grid was a good spot as I was right down the wall and round the outside at turn one unfortunately we didn’t get to start race one due to a handle bar problem, race 2, I was really looking forward to getting of with a decent start I had a good battle with the up and coming kids Jack Ferris ,Matthew McCord and Ajay Carey, was great fun.

Sunday I was a lot more excited about as it was meant to rain and I normally go well in the rain we were straight into a race from 2 warm up laps was an experience to say the least got off to a good start and made a good few passes round the outside at turn one getting onto the back of wee Rhys Coates, we had a great race the whole time coming right down to the line was also the same for race 4 with Rhys and I having a great race in the very tricky torrential rain .

I must say, I was seriously impressed with the Tianda, for such a new machine, it handled so well, a proper wee race bike, I would also like to Thank Daniel Parkinson of Misano Moto Imports for putting his faith in me to ride the bike and to Jackie and Jonny for all their help over the weekend.

I am really looking forward to St Angelo in a couple of weeks time.

Jackie Rainey Crew Chief  "I Would just like to say how pleased I am on the performance off this little Tianda 300 on it first outing at the weekend,

I have worked around a lot off race bikes, and this seems to be a very simple and straight-forward bike, good suspension front and rear, very easy to set up and according to my rider Curtis (Trimble) handles very well

Looking at the overall results on track 6th, 6th & 5th..it can hold it's own with any 300 which is very good for a 27bhp motor...seems to be a very sensible wee bike for young kids just starting circuit racing...can’t wait to see how many out next season."

Tianda TDR300 can be purchased from Misano Moto Imports UK. Bike cost starts at £3795. Other packages available with same bike spec but with greater spares volume.
